Burnaby Potters' Guild

Membership

Guild Membership is limited to 25 due to space constraints.
General Information:
Glaze firing is done in a cone 10 gas kiln, or cone 9 oxidation.
We have access to facilities at the Shadbolt Centre on:
            Tuesday   9 am to 5pm
Friday     9 am to 9 pm
Sunday   9 am  to 9 pm
Requirements for Membership:
The Guild is a small group working together cooperatively.
We are looking for people who:
1: Have basic pottery skills, such as throwing or handbuilding
2: Want to learn all the functions that go into producing a pot.
3: Have the ability to work well in a group situation.
4  Time to devote to Guild activities, including jobs such as mixing glazes, firing
kilns, participating in public Guild fundraising events,
(*minimum six hours per month*) as well as attend monthly meetings.
5: Have an interest in sharing knowledge with other members and the public
6: Have a skill or interest that would either fit in well with current members or add         something new to our collective knowledge.

Due to a change in the City of Burnaby's Allocation policy, it is unlikely that the Guild will be able to accept non-Burnaby residents as members.  We encourage you to seek pottery opportunities in your municipality.
